The Wraith Car

The M4S -PPG Turbo Interceptor

Art work of M4S - by Rebecca Scheckman

Welcome to The Wraith Car

My love and passion for this car has extended for over 17 years. It was just an ordinary Saturday afternoon I was 11 years old when I first saw this movie on a Sat. I can remember turning on the TV and seeing Jake, played by Charlie Sheen on a motorcycle thinking to myself how cool motorcycles are and then Keri, played by Sherilyn Fenn walks out and they meet like magic. I was mesmerized. I watched the movie thinking to myself that the scenes with the red light didn't make sense but the cool car in the movie was awesome. As the years went by and I caught glimpses of "The Wraith" movie and I learned about how movies are edited for television and figured that was probably why it didn't quite make sense. I didn't care though I fell in love with the story and the car in that movie along with everyone’s excellent acting.

Fascinating enough as I grew up I started noticing when I was 18 years old that my friends who stayed close from elementary school through college were just like Packard's gang and other characters from the movie. My friends say that I posses both qualities of Jake and Packard. Either way I was happy. In college I started to see less of this movie on TV and recall my friends calling me a few times at 1 AM to view the movie on cable when they came across it. That's dedication right there!

With the wraith movie slowly disappearing from my life I dedicated my free time during my last two years of college by taking my car off insurance and buying body kits that I customized to make my car resemble the wraith car in my own version. My friends and I called it the turbo interceptor’s girlfriend. It's cute, small and sounded pretty close to the turbo interceptor.

While still in college my passion for information about the M4S was never satisfied and I would take internet breaks between homework and jobs to search for anything I could find. I came across the website in 2003 thewraithcar.com and was very excited. I’ll talk about that later. When finished with college I was 24 and my friend who I can relate to as the character "George" in the opening scene, went to Best Buy and found the movie "The Wraith" purchased it and called me to let me know there was only one copy left. I was at work but that wasn't about to stop me because I was determined to get my hands on it so I snuck out to Best Buy to buy it!

I finally saw the movie in it's entirety at 24 years of age and now I see why certain parts were edited if you know what I mean. It was so great to finally see the movie in its entirety. Since then I have worked hard at trying to establish a Wraith fan site where people would love to come together and share their thoughts and dreams of owning a Wraith car. I have done loads of research and contacted Skank, played by David Sherrill who is making the WRAITH II Redemption on getting me to play a part in the movie. With no word yet my efforts are relentless as I can't help this drawn feeling to the movie and the car.

Before I forget, let me tell you more about the other website. Lyle the owner of the site http://www.thewraithcar.com/ was able to acquire the last functioning prop car and was restoring it. After a long dedicated following to his page I have watched as he has developed over the years his progress of restoring the car, history of the movie and memorabilia. He now has his own blog which I love participating in which I see as another great asset. As of the past few months he is trying to organize a Wraith Reunion in Arizona in 2010 and I can't wait to go. I may not have as many resources as Lyle but I know we do have a common passion and I know other people of all ages and younger generations have as well. I hope this website serves as a place where the fans of “The Wraith” can share their story and help each other with any questions they may have about the movie or the car.

Please help me accomplish my dream of owning my own wraith car, can you give just 1 dollar?
